FRIENDSHIP TOUR. DAY 12: San Luis Obispo, CA

Wednesday, September 23rd, 2009

Woooof, laundry time.  Smelly.

Finally we play a smaller room, more our speed than the balcony-ridden places we’ve been skulking around of late!  San Luis is a smaller college/surf town between San Fran and LA.  It was a good day for food and health as we treated ourselves to yum yum In-N-Out burgers, then Downtown Brew served us up some scrumptious meals (’Two Steak Tuesday’?!).  There was only one mini backroom, which meant The Get Up Kids were around to teach us some exciting beer-opening methods and tell stories about violent encounters on Landsdowne.

Today’s big news, however, is that Cameron from Youth Group has the sickest dance moves this side of the Pacific ocean.  We’ll be tailing him for the next week to get a suitable video.

Aside:  Is swine flu making a comeback on the east coast or something?  We keep hearing tales from our loved ones back home!  Scary!?
Fluuuu-ooooh Virus!

FRIENDSHIP TOUR. DAY 7: Drive Day / Boise, ID.

Sunday, September 20th, 2009

Day off!  We drive up to Boise for an ultra-relaxing wandering day.  Youth Group were smart enough to book an in-store at the Record Exchange.  They did a stripped down version of their set and played in only their daks (Aussie for undies).  As our luck would have it, Built to Spill played a benefit in town and we were treated to a delightful BtS set to round off a perfect (from now on) drive day.  Also, we played in a fountain.
